USC vs UCLA 2016 Rose Bowl Game Pasadena Nov 19, 2016 @usc_athletics @uclafootball @RoseBowlStadium

The rivalry between USC and UCLA is coming to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena this Saturday Nov 19, 2016.

Hopefully it will be a friendly match up. It will be packed as there are fans from both teams coming from all parts of Southern California.

If you are looking for a parking spot at the Rose Bowl, you are in luck, using this ParkJockey – One Touch Parking app, you can pay for your parking.

It is advised to stay away from the area if you are not going to the game and if you are going to the game take one of the shuttles that will be going to and from many locations around Pasadena, to make it easier. Maybe some day the Rose Bowl will have a connection to the Metro Goldline.

If you are looking for tickets to the big game. Tickets are running around $100 each. The last time these two teams played against each other was ten years ago. This is a night game at the Rose Bowl, which adds a whole other element to the game and revelers. Security is expected to be tight, so those planning shenanigans will be in for a surprise.

Tickets:

1. AceTicket: Tickets

2. SeatGeek: UCLA USC Game Tickets

3. PurchaseTix: Lower Prices, Better Seats, Available

Pasadena AT&T Fiber Service Available in Select Areas in Los Angeles

Just when AT&T was getting squeezed out of the high speed market, it has announced the available in certain areas around Los Angeles where the new 1 gig internet service is available.

It is still very limited, but the service areas are growing.

In my home location, 45Mbps is still the fastest available from AT&T, this is significantly slower than Charter/Spectrum currently offering 60Mbps, which in the coming months will increase in speed to over 100MBps, and the coming years beyond that, perhaps approaching the 1Gig speed being offered by AT&T in select areas.

Learn more AT&T Fiber network, visit www.att.com/getfiber

Or check available https://www.att.com/shop/unified/availability.html – all AT&T services available for the address entered will be listed.

Vroman’s Presents Bernie Sanders discussing Our Revolution: A Future to Believe In

Vroman’s Presents Bernie Sanders discussing Our Revolution: A Future to Believe In

<sold out event>

When Bernie Sanders began his race for the presidency, it was considered by the political establishment and the media to be a fringe campaign, something not to be taken seriously. After all, he was just an independent senator from a small state with little name recognition. His campaign had no money, no political organization, and it was taking on the entire Democratic Party establishment.

By the time Sanders’s campaign came to a close, however, it was clear that the pundits had gotten it wrong. Bernie had run one of the most consequential campaigns in the modern history of the country. He had received more than 13 million votes in primaries and caucuses throughout the country, won twenty-two states, and more than 1.4 million people had attended his public meetings. Most important, he showed that the American people were prepared to take on the greed and irresponsibility of corporate America and the 1 percent.  In Our Revolution, Sanders shares his personal experiences from the campaign trail, recounting the details of his historic primary fight and the people who made it possible. And for the millions looking to continue the political revolution, he outlines a progressive economic, environmental, racial, and social justice agenda that will create jobs, raise wages, protect the environment, and provide health care for all and ultimately transform our country and our world for the better. For him, the political revolution has just started. The campaign may be over, but the struggle goes on. (Thomas Dunne Books)

Tickets for this event are $31.61 (includes tax) and are now available on Eventbrite. One ticket will include a copy of Our Revolution, which will be handed out at the event. This event is a talk only and not a signing. This is a high security event we ask that attendees please leave large bags in their car or at home. This event will take place at All Saints Church at 132 N Euclid Ave, Pasadena. If there are any questions please call Vroman’s at(626) 449-5320 or visit us at www.vromansbookstore.com.

Techweek LA Summit’s got smart homes, driverless cars and the next “Netflix”

Photo: Failure is good for you! Don’t believe us? Reddit Cofounder Alexis Ohanian says so!

What’s up LA!

Techweek LA kicks off Monday: Come for the community events and happy hours but stay for the Summit speaker series! Here are four talks I’m especially looking forward to:

1. IoT isn’t just in our roads, public spaces and cars — it’s in our thermostat, security systems and entertainment centers. What do the pioneers of smart homes have to say about the newest house guest in the world of innovative tech?

2. Netflix, Birchbox, Blue Apron. Chances are you (maybe even your dog – hey, Barkbox!) have tried a subscription service. We’ve got just the person to give us a fresh take on how brands can connect with their audience in a more meaningful way.

3. Mobility is evolving in a big way with bike-sharing, Uber, Lyft, driverless cars, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Ford’s got some ideas on how we can make mobility even easier and more efficient.

4. Farmers Insurance has been serving the people for a lonnng time — since 1928. So when it comes to delivering an excellent customer service experience, they get it and tech’s got a lot to do with it.

There is a lot of star power here, so don’t miss out. Check out the whole Techweek LA schedule here, and grab those Executive tickets!

Apple CEO Tim Cook Letter To Employees Re 2016 Election

Here is the full text of Mr. Cook’s memo.

Team,

I’ve heard from many of you today about the presidential election. In a political contest where the candidates were so different and each received a similar number of popular votes, it’s inevitable that the aftermath leaves many of you with strong feelings.

We have a very diverse team of employees, including supporters of each of the candidates. Regardless of which candidate each of us supported as individuals, the only way to move forward is to move forward together. I recall something Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said 50 years ago: “If you can’t fly, then run. If you can’t run, then walk. If you can’t walk, then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.” This advice is timeless, and a reminder that we only do great work and improve the world by moving forward.

While there is discussion today about uncertainties ahead, you can be confident that Apple’s North Star hasn’t changed. Our products connect people everywhere, and they provide the tools for our customers to do great things to improve their lives and the world at large. Our company is open to all, and we celebrate the diversity of our team here in the United States and around the world — regardless of what they look like, where they come from, how they worship or who they love.

I’ve always looked at Apple as one big family and I encourage you to reach out to your co-workers if they are feeling anxious.

Let’s move forward — together!

Best,

Tim
