As many have been victims of phone theft, now we learn that approx 1 in 3 crimes involve the theft of a phone. This is shocking and to learn what companies and legislators are doing to combat and make phone crimes less profitable is key.
Apple this week announced a lock function that basically locks the phone from use even if the phone is wiped you cannot do anything with the phone unless you know the username and password on the phone.
Carriers may have to be forced by legislators to allow customers to call and have charges on their account suspended and even disable the device. But what happens is that theifs wipe and resell the phones and in some cases can change the ID.
