East Pasadena is ground-breaking for a new theater

It looks like East Pasadena is getting a new theater, according to a story in the Pasadena Star News today the theater is moving from Glendale and will be located next to the Metro Gold Line station at Sierra Madre.

The company plans to keep its award-winning production mix, Elliott said: classic drama, including Shakespeare and Moliere, interspersed with such modern masters as Ibsen, Shaw and Tennessee Williams, and some lighter fare – their recent production of the knock-about comedy “Noises Off” won rave reviews.

“A Noise Within” company, will break ground on its new $13-million, 35,000 square-foot theater at the historic Stuart Pharmaceutical complex in April. The theater company has been based in Glendale for 18 years, and the new building will provide its first permanent, custom-designed home. (Photo courtesy John Berry Architects)
